Please be aware that whilst it is not illegal to own a knife, sword etc.. It is an offence to carry one in public without good reason. Offences with replica weapons acrry the same punishments as those with real weapons.

Addendum

UK Sword Ban

Under UK law it is illegal to sell any curved swords with a blade length exceeding 50cm unless they are:

* Handforged in a traditional method

* Antique and over 100 years old

* It is a Samurai sword made prior to 1954

In addition -

Any curved swords that do not fall into the 3 general exemptions above may only be sold to those that have specific reason for ownng the sword.

These reasons must be verifiable upon request and are as follows:

* Member of a Martial Arts club or Historical Re-Enactment society that holds 3rd party liability insurance.

* A registered theatrical events company or film/tv production company

* A historic re-enactment event that holds 3rd party liability insurance

* A religious ceremony.
